At Swift Stitch Upholstery, we’re all about elevating interiors without losing what made them special in the first place—and Nick’s Volkswagen R is the perfect example of our OEM+ philosophy.

This sleek R received a full interior retrim using a blend of Alcantara and premium leather from our friends at Relicate. Every material was carefully grain-matched and color-matched to the original OEM plastics, ensuring the transformation felt natural, refined, and factory fresh—only better.

We went the extra mile and wrapped the headliner, visors, shift boot, and door panels in rich black Alcantara for a seamless, luxurious look. The seats were brought to life with a bold hex stitch pattern and blue accent thread to tie in with the R's factory styling.

Since completion, this car has gone on to win multiple awards, standing out at shows and gatherings for its subtle craftsmanship and custom-tailored detail. The attention to fit and finish speaks for itself—and so does the hardware it’s brought home.

Words from Nick:
"From a scattered vision in my head to what the car looks like today, I can't thank anyone other than Rick for making my dream a reality. My loose ideas started with just redoing the seats and the headliner, but after speaking with Rick and hearing what he thought would make sense, I knew the only way forward was a full custom interior. We did away with all the leatherette in the car for real leather, charcoal colored Alcantara for the A, B, and C pillars, custom inserts for the door cards and front seats, black and blue carbon fiber for the back of the front seats, and the same carbon fiber and leather for the steering wheel to make it all one beautiful piece of art. I built this car the way I wanted it to be for me, but I'm happy to say almost everyone that has seen the car has said it is nothing else but beautiful"
